UGA receives national diversity award for fourth consecutive year; law school enrolls diverse class

The University of Georgia’s commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive campus environment has been recognized for the fourth consecutive year with the INSIGHT Into Diversity Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award. An example of this commitment is demonstrated by the credentials of the law school's newest students. The 189 members of the Juris Doctor Class of 2020 come to the law school with a variety of backgrounds, and 21 percent self-identify as belonging to a minority group. They hail from 24 states and studied at 62 undergraduate institutions, and 25 students are first-generation college graduates. This fall, the school also welcomed 15 LL.M. (Master of Laws) students, hailing from 10 countries on five continents and four M.S.L. (Master in the Study of Law) students seeking knowledge of the legal system to enhance their careers. Statistics as of 8/10/17.
