U.S. Representative David Scott to speak on international finance

Athens, Ga. – The University of Georgia School of Law’s Dean Rusk Center will host Congressman David Scott for a presentation on international finance, particularly as it relates to the implementation of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, on Jan. 17 at 12:30 p.m. in the Larry Walker Room, Dean Rusk Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

Scott, who was first elected in 2002, is currently serving his sixth term representing Georgia's 13th Congressional District, which includes six Atlanta-area counties – Cobb, Clayton, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton and Henry. He presently serves on the Financial Services Committee, the Agriculture Committee and the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.

Previously, he served as a Georgia State Representative from 1975 to 1982 and as a Georgia State Senator from 1983 to 2002. He also ran his own advertising agency, Dayn-Mark Advertising, in Atlanta during the early 1970s.

Scott, who presently serves on the Rusk Center’s Board of Advisors, earned his bachelor’s degree with honors from Florida A&M University and his MBA with honors from the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania.
