Congratulations to third-year law students Meredith C. Lee and Michael T. Rafi for finishing as one of the top eight teams out of almost 200 teams across the country in the National Moot Court Competition.


Conference to explore the current state and future of international trade

On Feb. 18, the University of Georgia School of Law's Dean Rusk Center and the Terry College of Business will sponsor a daylong conference titled "The Future of International Trade: An American Perspective" that will explore where the United States currently stands and its future with regard to international trade. Beginning at 9:00 a.m., the event will take place in the Larry Walker Room of Dean Rusk Hall.


Johnson receives National Women's Law Center fellowship

Third-year law student Ashland J. Johnson was recently selected for a two-year law fellowship with the National Women's Law Center in the organization's Health and Reproductive Justice Department. Johnson was one of two law students to receive this fellowship after a nationwide application process. During the fellowship, Johnson will receive training in social justice advocacy and will focus on federal and state legislation that pertain to women's health and reproductive issues.


Former DOJ Deputy Attorney General Larry Thompson to teach at Georgia Law

Joining the University of Georgia School of Law as a visiting professor this spring is Larry D. Thompson, former deputy attorney general for the U.S. Department of Justice and current senior vice president of government affairs, general counsel and secretary for PepsiCo. Thompson will be teaching the course Corporate Responsibility.
