Georgia Law has hired attorney Gregory C. "Greg" Sowell from Tifton as its new senior director of development. A 1983 graduate of Georgia Law, Sowell has served 10 consecutive years on the school's alumni council, in which he assisted with raising funds to support the law school.

Togut has published "The Gestalt of the School-to-Prison Pipeline: The Duality of Overrepresentation of Minorities in Special Education and Racial Disparity in School Discipline on Minorities" in 20 American University Journal of Gender, Social Policy and the Law 163 (2011).

Distinguished Research Professor and Shackelford Distinguished Professor in Taxation Law Walter Hellerstein presented “A Third-Country Observer’s Thoughts on the Proposed EU Common Consolidated Corporate Tax Base (CCCTB) Controlled Foreign Corporation Rules,” during a conference on the CCCTB and third countries that was held at the Institute for Austrian and International Tax Law of the Vienna University of Economics and Business in January.
