HIRSCH HALL

Hirsch Hall was completed in 1932 and is located on UGA's historic North Campus, a short walk from downtown Athens. The spiral staircase inside the main entrance is a hallmark of the facility. The stately rotunda is used for receptions following law school special events and student advocacy competitions.

J. Alton Hosch Law Library Annex

The annex was built in 1981. The law library and the annex are generally open until 2:00am. The annex also houses Georgia Law's 3 journals ---Georgia Law Review, Georgia Journal of International & Comparative Law, and Journal of Intellectual Property.

dean rusk hall

Dean Rusk Hall

Named for Dean Rusk, former Secretary of State for Presidents Kennedy and Johnson and a longtime professor at Georgia Law, Rusk Hall was built in 1996. View 360º tours of the grand entrance, the unique Carl E. Sanders Boardroom where law school seminars are held, and the modern courtroom where advocacy teams hone their skills.

Classroom

During the first year, students take Civil Procedure, Contracts, Criminal Law, Legal Research, Property, and Torts. Classroom instruction includes lectures and the Socratic Method. All classrooms feature wireless internet and individual electric outlets to facilitate note-taking on a laptop.

Alexander Campbell King Law Library

The law library was built in 1967. The most spectacular feature of the library is the spacious Carl E. Sanders Reading Room, framed by two-story picture windows which run the length of the room and overlook Herty Field.

Herty Field

Herty Field is within view of the law library's Carl E. Sanders Reading Room, and just a few steps from the law school. It is a popular spot for rest and relaxation. Herty Field is also part of the law school's wireless internet campus, allowing students the opportunity for study outdoors via their computer.

Dean Rusk Center for International Law & Policy

Established in 1977, the Dean Rusk Center leads the school in international law research, teaching and service. The center coordinates the school's global internships and summer study abroad programs, hosts conferences and lectures on important and timely international matters, and serves as a forum for research and debate on international law and policy issues.

Sutherland Courtyard, Student Patio & Lounge

In 2011, the law school underwent a multimillion dollar renovation that created almost 4,000 sq. ft. of additional building space - designed primarily for student use - and a beautiful, yet functional, interior courtyard. Among the newly created spaces are: 2 large student lounges (one of which is complemented by a cafe), 7 group study/interview rooms and additional organization offices.

Hatton Lovejoy Courtroom

Renovated in 2009, the Hatton Lovejoy courtroom is home to Georgia Law's award-winning Moot Court and Mock Trial teams. Hatton Lovejoy is also the location for the Richard B. Russell Moot Court and the J. Ralph Beaird Closing Argument Mock Trial 1L student competitions.
