Distinguished Research Professor & Francis Shackelford Distinguished Professor in Taxation Law Walter Hellerstein’s treatise “State Taxation” was cited by the U.S. Supreme Court in the majority opinion in the Supreme Court case of Comptroller v. Wynne, for the proposition that the near-universal state practice is to provide credits against personal income taxes for such taxes paid to other states.
