The Consular Series: William De Baets, Consul General of Belgium

Join the Dean Rusk International Law Center for a lecture by William De Baets, Consul General of Belgium in Atlanta, on September 18th from 12:00-12:50 pm, in Classroom F (246), Hirsch Hall. Consul General De Baets will discuss Belgian trade policy with the European Union and the United States, as well as Belgium’s ties with Georgia.

Consul General De Baets is a career diplomat, having been posted to Ivory Coast, Venezuela, Ethiopia, Brussels, Washington, D.C., and now Atlanta. He formerly headed the Foreign Affairs Crisis Center and the Belgian First Aid and Support Team, and while in Washington D.C., he focused on political-military affairs. Before joining the diplomatic service, De Baets served nine years in the Belgian Navy.

This lecture is the first in the Dean Rusk International Law Consular Series, which presents perspectives on international trade, development, policy, and cooperation. Co-sponsored by the International Law Society.
