Rededication of the Louis B. Sohn Library on International Relations & 38th Birthday of the Dean Rusk International Law Center
The rededication of the Louis B. Sohn Library on International Relations, in its new home in the renovated Dean Rusk International Law Center, will take place from 4-6 p.m. in the Larry Walker Room, top floor Dean Rusk Hall. A reception and tours of the center will follow on the main floor of Dean Rusk Hall.
Kannan Rajarathinam (LL.M.'88), Head of Office, United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq, will speak on “The United Nations at 70: Pursuing Peace in the 21st Century.” Additional remarks will be made by: Dean Peter B. "Bo" Rutledge; Associate Dean Diane Marie Amann; Associate Professor Harlan G. Cohen; Dorinda G. Dallmeyer (J.D.'84), the director of the UGA Environmental Ethics Certificate Program and former Rusk Center associate director; and Kenneth I. Dious (J.D.'73) of Dious & Associates.
An official UN70 event, the rededication is cosponsored by: the American Bar Association Section of International Law; the American Branch of the International Law Association; the American Society of International Law; the Alexander Campbell King Law Library; the Asian Law Students Association; the Davenport-Benham Chapter of the Black Law Students Association; the Georgia Journal of International & Comparative Law, which will publish the event’s proceedings; the Georgia Society for International & Comparative Law; the Hispanic Law Students Association; the Jewish Law Students Association; the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition team and the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot team.
