Waltrice graduated from Spelman College, where she studied Political Science and Business Management and Organization. During her undergraduate studies, she gained extensive work experience interning for the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office, The U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, and a boutique civil litigation firm. Following graduation, she was appointed as the Deputy Treasurer of the City of Petersburg, Virginia and worked in that position until beginning law school.
Living in Atlanta since the age of 13, Waltrice has developed strong personal and professional relationships in the State of Georgia and therefore wanted to continue her educational matriculation here. Thus far, she has been extremely impressed by the friendly collegiate atmosphere, enthusiastic support of faculty, and vast academic opportunities.
This summer, Waltrice plans to participate in the Global Internship Program in the Dominican Republic. This program, offered by Georgia Law, consists of more than 71 placements in over 33 different counties. She also anticipates participating in Georgia Law’s D.C. Semester in Practice Program, which allows students to spend a semester studying and working in Washington, D.C.
